  • The Human Brain
Students in Room 8 are discovering lots about the Human Brain, how it is made up and what the parts do. We are discovering how important it is to feed our bodies the right food for brain development. This has led us to looking at good food choices.
Here is a model of the brain we made from a paper bowl. It shows that the brain is responsible for all our thoughts, feelings, actions and memories.

  • Visit to Paetiki Shops
AS part of our healthy brain unit we made fruit smoothies. We walked to Paetiki shops to buy fresh fruit. We were in 4 groups and each group had $10 to spend. We wrote shopping lists and looked at the specials flyer to see how much things cost. It was fun spending our money. Some of us overspent so we couldn't afford to buy everything so we had to share fruit with others. It was a great life skill to learn.
